Tubsan: Somalia establishes first national counterterrorism center

MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somalia’s Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre on Sunday established Tubsan, the first national counterterrorism center in the Horn of Africa nation amid an ongoing fight against Al-Qaeda-aligned militants, his office said.

The Premier named Abdullahi Mohamed Nur as the director of the new center and Ibrahim Nadara, who defected from Al-Shabaab in 2016, as his deputy.
