MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – The United Arab Emirates is setting up a new special unit of about 3,000 to 4,000 foreign recruits with the help of former French commando, Intelligence Online has reported.
Based on the model of the French Foreign Legion, the recruitment process is set to begin in mid-July and will end in 2025. When formed, the special unit will be deployed to Somalia and Yemen where the UAE continues setting up proxies despite threats to its interests from other rival Gulf countries of Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
