MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – The United Kingdom on Saturday advised against all travel to Somalia as Al-Shabaab continued to plan attacks against westerners, including possible kidnappings.
British Foreign Office advised all but essential travel to Somaliland’s western regions of Marodi-jeh, Awdal and Sahil, areas considered relatively calm.
“There is a constant threat of terrorist attack in Mogadishu and terrorists continue to plan attacks against westerners in the rest of Somalia, including Somaliland,” UK Foreign Office said.
“There is a high threat of maritime crime in the territorial and international waters of Somalia and attack remains a significant threat in Gulf of Aden and Indian Ocean.”
