MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – The United Kingdom rallied its support behind a meeting of the National Consultative Council called by Somalia’s Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble to address transparency concerns on elections, its Minister for Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean said on Thursday.

I just spoke to [Somali] Prime Minister … to reiterate UK support for an urgent NCC meeting to address electoral concerns and secure a swift, credible outcome,” UK Minister for Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean Vicky Ford tweeted.

All parties must refrain from provocative actions and avoid violence,” she added.
