MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – The ambassador of the United States to Somalia Larry Andre said on Wednesday that the Horn of Africa country’s new president has detailed plans for an all-agreeable leadership, expressing hope that he would tackle the most challenging issues that outlasted his predecessor.
In an interview with VOA Somali, Andre expressed hope that Mohamud will deal with the worst humanitarian situation in more than a decade, complete the constitution and further progress the ongoing arrears clearance program.
Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said, in a phone call, he had congratulated Somali President on “his election and affirmed the United States’ support for reconciliation, security, and economic reform efforts in Somalia”.
