MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – The United States lauded Somalia Foreign Minister’s “leadership of economic reform”, which has also been recognized by the IMF, but warned that repeated delays in elections could threaten the progress, its embassy in Mogadishu said on Wednesday.
It followed a meeting between US ambassador and Somali Minister of Finance Abdirahman Baileh at the heavily fortified Halane base in Mogadishu.
“Somalia needs to complete transparent, inclusive, and credible elections soon,” US embassy in Somalia tweeted.
