Somalia PM Convenes Meeting with Security and Military Officials

MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somalia’s new Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Rooble has held meeting with top security and military officials to boost government efforts aimed to improve security ahead of elections.

The Prime Minister told security and military officials to give higher priority to security and strengthening cooperation between security elements of the federal and regional governments.

Among the attendees at the meeting included former Deputy Prime Minister Mahdi Mohamed Guled, former ministers and top security and military officials who briefed the Prime Minister about the current security plan.

This was the first meeting the new Prime Minister convened with the national armed forces generals, in the course of which he urged them to double the war against Al-Qaeda linked Al-Shabaab group which has recently stepped up its insurgency campaign against the federal government and allied foreign troops.
