Somalia Police Arrest Fugitive in Connection with the Rape

MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Police hunting fugitive over the rape and murder of 19-year-old school graduate in Mogadishu have arrested a man identified as Mohamed Ibrahim in the Somalia town of Adado, in Galgadud region.

Police searching for further suspects involved in the recent gang-rape and murder of a 19-year-old girl Hamdi Mohamed Farah in Mogadishu on Friday.

The man identified as Mohamed Ibrahim Osman, 24, was arrested overnight in an operation carried out by Police in the town of Adado. He allegedly fled from the capital soon after the crime was perpetrated, officials said.

On Tuesday, Somali Police spokesman told press that 11 suspects were in custody for the rape and murder, and that security forces were searching for further suspects. He urged residents to help them in identifying those who were behind the crime.
