MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somalia has reported the highest COVID-19 cases it recorded in just 48 hours since a second wave hit the country over the past weeks.
In a statement, Somali Ministry of Health said 304 tested positive from a sample of 1,830 people in the last 48 hours. 147 of them are in Banadir region, 77 in Hirshabelle region, 53 in Somaliland, 15 in Jubaland and 7 in Galmudug state.
The ministry reported 8 deaths from the contagion while 3 patients recovered, as a second wave hits hard Mogadishu and other cities across Somalia.
Among the dead are patients who have been treated at Martini, a government-run medical facility in the capital, Mogadishu.
