MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somalia’s Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble bade farewell to the outgoing ambassador of the United Kingdom Ben Fender, whose tour of duty had come to an end.
Mr Fender paid a courtesy call to the Somali Prime Minister on Monday morning to bid farewell after completing his two-year term in the country.
Mohamed Hussein Roble commended the UK ambassador for his excellent performance that has seen relations between the two countries grow.
Ben Fender thanked to the Somali authorities for welcoming him to their country and facilitating his work during his term, expressing hope that ties between the UK and Somalia will continue to burgeon.
An unknown number of British army personnel are currently present in Somalia to support the operations of the UN, the AU Mission and the EU. They also support the Somali army as part of the international efforts to restore stability in the Horn of Africa nation.
