MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) –The Somali Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khayre and the US ambassador of Somalia Donald Yamamoto jointly opened youth investment initiative aimed to empower young entrepreneurs throughout Somalia, as the PM said in a statement on his official twitter account.
The initiative is aimed to prompt a multi-sector youth contribution and productivity, an effort that will further help expand the overall economy of Somalia –a country symbolized by unraveling and chaos for close to thirty years.
The US embassy in Somalia is playing a major role in this initiative executed by USAID.
It’s not yet known how this new joint effort would address the needs of entrepreneurial youths across Somalia, similar programs funded by the World Bank and other international organizations have regrettably fell far short in meeting needed success.
I launched the #SomYouthExpo, a joint youth investment program led by the 🇸🇴 Government to empower the youth across the country to help them attain self-reliance & economic emancipation. Thanks to the 🇺🇸GOV & the Somali private sector for the remarkable support.#HiigsiIyoHorumar pic.twitter.com/me2AAyTtox
