Somali Police Chief Openly Acknowledges that Country’s Security has Deteriorated

MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) –Somali Police Chief Abdi Hassan Hijar has for the first time publicly acknowledged that insecurity has spiraled out of control in Mogadishu and Somalia as a whole.

The Somali Police Chief reiterated that all efforts towards securing Mogadishu have failed due to Al-Shabaab attacks which still show no sign of abating after the group has recently destroyed surveillance cameras placed along major roads across the city.

“Our country’s security has been intruded, the country’s security is further worsening” stressed the Somali Police Chief, Abdi Hassan Hijar.

This is the first the time Hijar has openly admitted that police have failed to limit Al-Shabaab attacks as the group maintained continuity of its efforts to target government officials, security personnel and foreigners in the country.
