Somalia’s Police Detain Director Of Amin Ambulance Service For Allegedly Appropriating Money

MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) –Somali security forces in the capital Mogadishu have arrested the Director of Amin Ambulance Services Abdikadir Abdirahman Adan, Police officials have confirmed.

Reports say the Director has been arrested while having dinner at Spaghetti restaurant in Mogadishu’s Banadir neighborhood and has been taken to nearby C.I.D headquarters.

A letter issued by the Somali Prosecutor General’s office, obtained by Somaliguardian ordered the C.I.D department to arrest the Director of Amin Ambulance.

In the letter, the Prosecutor’s office says complaints against Amin Ambulance director were passed by two citizens identified as Ahmed Abdirahman Diriye and Barre Osman Hussein, who assert that the man appropriated $214,000 he had earlier told them would be financed in a Forex business venture.

It’s unclear whether there are other motives behind Adan’s arrest, but members of his family and Police officials in Mogadishu have told Somaliguardian that he is being held in custody at the C.I.D headquarters.
