Sudan Captures Leader of Ethiopian Militias
KHARTOUM (Somaliguardian) – Sudanese troops captured an Ethiopian militia leader whose fighters have been fighting Khartoum’s army in a disputed area on the border between Sudan and Ethiopia since late last year, Al-Sharq news has reported.
A leader of Ethiopian Amhara militias, whose name has not been revealed, was arrested inside Sudan’s territory while planning attacks against Sudanese army, a military source in Khartoum has told Al-Sharq.
The news comes, hours after Sudanese forces claimed to have captured a weapons haul smuggled into Sudan on the border with Ethiopia, weeks after Khartoum accused Addis Ababa of arming a local rebel group in the Blue Nile region.
