Torrential rains hit Somaliland coasts, casualties reported

(Somaliguardian-Hargeisa)- Torrential rains have hit several coastal districts in the North of Hargeisa, Somaliland as preliminary reports indicate casualties.

The torrential rains hit severely Abdi Geeddi residential area where reports from the area indicate to have caused casualties. Several homes in the district have been demolished by the rains which were falling so fast.

No human casualties have yet been reported. The chief of Abdi Geeddi district speaking to VOA Somali’s Hargeisa correspondent Khadar Mohamed Akulle, stated that the rain with heavy torrential storms fell during the night and that it demolished several homes and schools.

The district chief added that thunderbolts hit residential areas killing livestock animals and that the rains were still falling on the coasts.
